About the Pastor

 The Reverend Dr. Belinda C. Windham has been pastor of New Hope since May of 2006. A native Texan, Belinda has previously served congregations in Taylor, Livingston, and Houston, Texas, in solo, associate, and interim positions. She has always served the larger church in the higher judicatories. She is currently serving as the President of the Board of the Austin Seminary Association. She is a member of the Advisory Board of The Institute of Pastoral Studies. Immediately prior to coming to New Hope, Belinda enjoyed the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor of Preaching at Houston Graduate School of Theology.  She is one of the founding members of the Katy-West Houston Interfaith Clergy Association.  She has been a guest lecturer at Rice University and the South Texas College of Law.  

Belinda earned her bachelor degree summa cum laude from St. Edward’s University. Her Master of Divinity degree is from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, with the award at graduation of the W. P. Newell Memorial Fellowship for outstanding academic achievement and showing promise for leadership in the church. She earned a Doctor of Ministry in Preaching degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, in 1996.

Belinda is a widow.  She and her recently deceased husband moved to the Spring Shadows neighborhood of Houston in 1998. Their only child, Sam, and his wife, Vanessa, live in Houston. Belinda’s other interests include the theater, film and art. She enjoys reading suspense thrillers, whodunits, and historical novels.  A little black Scottie, Lily, keeps her household from being boring.
