Worship and Music at New Hope

The heart of a congregation is the worship of God.  We gather weekly on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. to hear the Word, respond in faith and be challenged to live it out during the ensuing week.

We are a liturgical church with much congregation participation.  Besides Sunday morning worship, we gather for special celebrations on Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday.

Music is an important part of our worship and we sing the great hymns of the church besides newer hymns from many traditions.

Our Chancel Choir, directed by Andrea Gillentine, includes adult and teen singers.  Weekly anthems and special presentations include music from many eras and styles.  At times, we also have a hand bell choir.

A nursery is provided for children from birth to two during morning worship.

Children from three through first grade are invited to share activities and a snack during the "Little Angels' Club" following the children's message.  However, little ones are always welcome at worship, and baptized children are invited to share in the sacrament of Holy Communion.  An orientation to the sacrament, "Children at the Lord's Table", is offered periodically.
